Broward Youth Coalition

The Broward Youth Coalition (BYC) is a group of over 80 high school drug-free youth leaders representing all areas of the local community. This cadre of youth leaders come together on a bi-monthly basis to create, develop and put into action positive, social change activities as it relates to underage drinking, substance use/abuse, bullying, peer pressure & other interrelated issues.

Family Day Every Day

South Florida Family Day is a day to eat dinner with your children. A national movement to encourage families to enjoy meals together at least 4-5 times per week because the conversations fostered at the dinner table help our kids make healthier and better choices about alcohol and other drug use.

Screening Brief Intervention
and Referral to Treatment

SBIRT is a United Way Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse initiative to identify, reduce, and prevent substance misuse among individuals 14 to 30 years of age. Through training and coaching, health care and community service providers are supported in adopting screening, intervention, and treatment referral activities within their existing systems of care.

Crisis Intervention

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a unique partnership amongst law enforcement, behavioral health providers, consumers and families. CIT reinforces the partnership between law enforcement, individuals affected by mental illness and substance abuse disorders, mental health advocacy groups, and consumers of mental health services and their families.

Hispanic Initiative

Gain the knowledge and tools to help children reach success. Attend parent training, support groups, and parent camps available in both English and Spanish. Connect with our providers and organizers to get free training in both English and Spanish. Everyone is welcome!
