Shahara Jaghoo is an experienced prevention specialist who has proficiency working with youth and adults in the areas of community building, leadership training, and substance abuse prevention. Shahara provides the overall guidance and support for the Commission's adult and youth training initiatives.
She provides education and technical assistance in skill development, coalition building, advocacy, conferences, and town hall meetings as it relates to substance use/abuse and their interconnected issues. Shahara remains dedicated in developing and planning comprehensive training strategies focusing on informing, engaging, and training our community in the area of substance use/abuse.
She facilitates a youth coalition for middle and high school students in Broward County that enhances youth leadership roles in the community while delivering substance use/abuse prevention services. Shahara’s creativity and outstanding program planning skills are reflected in the successes of the youth that she serves.
Over the past 5 years, Shahara has successfully planned and coordinated various youth and community events, training over 500 people across the state of Florida.
Shahara’s educational background is in Fine Arts/Media Relations. She has worked in the non-profit field for the past eight years. She believes that all people should be given the opportunity to be successful in life. Her one passion is art and her other passion is people.
