Angela Ventura is most recognizable for her professionalism, cheerful personality, and welcoming attitude, which is reflected in her dedication and commitment to the United Way of Broward County and the Commission on Substance Abuse.
Angela provides administrative and program support to the Commission and assists with the planning and implementation of various meetings, including the Board of Governors and the Commission’s Tasks Forces.
Angela also assists with the Commission’s various initiatives and organizes multiple projects. She is also coordinating the Substance Abuse Response Guide (SARG) Project in Broward County for the Underage Drinking Initiative.
Before relocating to the United States in 1999, Angela was an Advisor for the Human Rights High Presidential Consultant in the project of the United Nations Development Program and the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia. Angela also worked as a teacher at Universidad El Bosque and at Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria, in Colombia.
Angela earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and her Master of Arts in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes. During her undergraduate studies, Angela was the Assistant Investigator on special projects including the Study of the Socioeconomic Impact of San Rafael’s Reservoir, the Environmental Pre-diagnostic of Cusiana’s Oil Project, and the Analysis of the Presidential Programs’ Social Expenses.
